February Principal’s Message
January has flown by and the students had the opportunity to participate in some memorable activities. During January, we went skating and skiing as a whole school and the kindergarten to Grade 6 students had the opportunity to enjoy the opera.
January 27 was Family Literacy Day. Thank you to the Donalda Fire Department for coming to the school to read to the students. Clearview School Division is hosting a Family Literacy challenge for February . If you scan the QR code or go to clearview.ab.ca, you can enter the Family Literacy challenge. On the website, there are suggestions of activities that families can do together to make literacy fun. If you enter the challenge, your family can win prizes. Julie and I have made a more concerted effort to read more with our children lately, and it has been fun to be apart of the process of seeing our daughter transform from a non-reader to a reader.
There are many exciting learning activities being planned for February. Mr. Seale and the Leadership class have planned a full day of activities in Edmonton, which includes trips to the Legislative Assembly, Science Centre and a volleyball game. Basketball is in full swing and the Donalda teams are playing hard and improving immensely.
Have a great month!
